Dear all,
To go towards my Duke of Edinburgh award, I have decided to
write a newsletter for the youth
club. This issue will discuss what
has been going on in the past two
weeks, with interviews and photos
from the two nights.
Week 1: On the week commencing
17/11/2014, Sarah Sutton came to
the club to help paint nails. It was a
major success, with not only girls
going for a makeover, but the more
adventurous boys too! As well as
the fun of the nails area, an encaustic art area was set up too. The idea
of encaustic art is to melt specially
designed wax onto a small sheet of
paper or card, with the help of an
iron, and see what patterns are
formed. An honourable mention for
best encaustic artwork, Enara Jane,
can be seen with her masterpiece
below.
Week 2: On the week commencing 24/11/14, the young people
had a fun evening of multigames. According to Tom Nehme, the games included
“skittes, limbo and a kickabout
in the corner”. The evening was
highly competitive, as explained
by Chelsea Cooper. She said
that “We did a set of challenges,
which included throwing a PingPong ball into a cup in order to
score points, limbo and card
stacking. Whoever had the highest total score won the prize”.
At the moment, it is unclear
who won the challenge, but as
soon as I get the information, it
will be published here. As well
as the physical challenges, there
was a lateral thinking quiz,
which got everyone scratching
their heads with frustration..
Special cookies were also made
on this night. Below is a photo

fun and games.
